privacy
Declute is a personal catalog for the things you own and the subscriptions you pay for. This page explains, in plain terms, what the app processes and the choices you keep. It is a pre-launch draft: we will publish the final, dated policy before the app is available, and it will not weaken anything stated here.
private by default
Your catalog is private to you. Nothing you add is public, sold, or shared with other users. Public profiles are not part of the app today; if they ever ship, they will be off by default and opt-in per item.
what stays on your phone
Some things are read on your device and never uploaded as images:
- Receipts are scanned on-device. Only the extracted text — price, date, merchant — is used to fill in an item. The photo of the receipt is not sent to us.
- Billing screenshots for subscriptions and free-trial reminders are read on-device. The screenshot never leaves your phone.
photos for recognition
When you photograph an item and ask Declute to recognize it, that image is processed to suggest a name, category, brand, tags, and an estimated value range. Recognition photos are not used to train advertising and are not sold. Value estimates are always shown as ranges, never presented as exact appraisals.
your subscriptions and passwords
Declute helps you see what you pay for and links you to each service's own manage-or-cancel page. Declute never holds your service credentials. You sign in with the service yourself, on the service's site, and return to mark it cancelled.
export and delete, anytime
- Export everything you've added, as JSON or CSV, whenever you want.
- Delete everything, whenever you want. Destructive actions in the app are reversible with undo; a full delete is permanent by design.
- The app works offline — you can browse and capture without a signal and sync later.
your rights
We build toward the protections in the GDPR and CCPA: the right to access, export, correct, and delete your data, and to understand how it's processed. Because Declute is private by default and export/delete are built in, most of these are one tap in the app rather than a request you have to file.
signing in
You can sign in with Apple, Google, or email. We use your sign-in only to keep your catalog attached to your account and to sync it across your devices.
